whats next

inevitably i have reached the point in my gigantic creative project where i want to give it up entirely and plan another giant creative project. last time i did this it was after i made a short film for my wife's 30th birthday and rented out a local movie theater to show it on the big screen (crazy), and i decided to write a musical (crazy).

i think the incredible thing that these two projects have taught me is that i am, in fact, able to make things. i am able to "complete" these projects, ie "pull them off" to a certain extent. so what i choose to do next has a possibility of coming to fruition (even if it doesn't lead to "success" of any kind).

long winded intro here are my ideas

- start planning for a big labor day party in 2026

- create a video game of some kind

- create an art experience in my garage

- make a narrative film of some kind

- make a documentary film of some kind

- do my idea where i gather people to make a narrative film but secretly edit it & film the behind-the-scenes "making of" process including all the classic DVD Menu Special Features like bloopers, interviews, weird easter eggs, and the full docu-series of my friends hanging out and making stuff (I had this idea BEFORE watching American Movie (1999) but it is now very much inspired by American Movie (1999))

- create a reverse escape room for my friends

- write a short film about an escape room

- make my yard really nice

- start doing doordash

- help someone ELSE with a giant creative project (ideal)

- find purpose outside of creativity

- discover & develop community

- do a podcast

- try to actually not commit to anything at all

- just hang out with my friends frequently and deliberately

- just be myself with no ulterior motive

- do all of these things simultaneously
